This is for the inspiration challenge IC533, Total Wall Covering... I was making a birthday card for my sister, Valerie-Raye. She loves to be by the ocean, loves the water, lighthouses and spends many hours looking for sea glass..
When I saw this image in today's IC challenge - I knew that I could enter it into the challenge gallery Northern Lighthouse
I had stamped on the birds with stazon jet black. Cut out a mask for the upper water portion. Sponged on the river rock ink. Next I drew in the lighthouse image - Water coloured the ocean and the sky. Painted in the Island in the left corner. Painted in the clouds with white acrylic paint. Added the seagulls. Added some white highlights to the water. I made the starfish with some hotglue and a mould. Pierced holes in the starfish and sewed it onto the card. Glued on the sea glass with crystal effects and added the sparkle to the water. I saw the sentiment on line and thought it worked perfectly for for the card.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs..pat

Pat, this is a very beautifully coloured and designed scene, wonderful colouring! Such a true sentiment, too! Where we have our holiday apartment, north of Sydney, we don't have a lighthouse but do have a short walk uphill to a Port Operation Tower where they keep an eye on all boat craft, day and night, on the Bay - the views up there are spectacular!

Your card is so inviting Pat!! That is somewhere I would like to be right now. Great job with the light house and the little birds in the sand, but it is the beautiful water that calls. Lovely!!
